After-School Care Program
To accommodate the needs of working parents and guardians, CCA is pleased to offer an After-School Care Program (ASCP). The purpose of this program is to provide a day care option for Pre-K through grade 8 students, which allows them to remain at the school from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. Within the After-School Care Program, children are encouraged and guided to use their time in creative ways that are fun, yet also enhance learning. Social behaviors, the interaction between children, as well as children to adults are guided so as to be respectful and appropriate. Biblical principles are used to create and maintain a safe and positive environment for all children and supervising adults. This program is designed to be an extension of the classroom in the sense that the same respectful, appropriate behavior of students is both expected and encouraged.
2011-2012 Rates
The rate of $3.00 per hour for all regular ASCP hours, 11:30 am to 5:30 pm, will be assessed. A charge of $3.00 is assessed for any amount of time care is given within the first hour a child enters the ASCP. When care is administered for fifteen minutes or more into a new hour, the time will be rounded up to the next half-hour with the respective charge of $1.50 for that half-hour assessed. In the rare case that care would be needed beyond these hours, special pre-arrangements would need to be discussed and mutually agreed upon. The rate for care given after 5:30 pm will be $10.00 per hour.
Policies
The ASCP Director has authority over all children participating and is responsible for all after school care programming and management.
Any issues relating to a child’s participation (excluding fees, payment or change in established care schedule) in this program will be first directed to the ASCP Director and secondly to the Principal for input and decision-making.
In the case of any change from one’s established childcare hours, 24 hours notice must be given. Please notify the school office, not the ASCP Director, with all change requests. Every effort will be made to accommodate needs within reason as they are presented.
It is required that all children be signed out of the ASCP each day, by the parent or the person picking them up on that given day. A sign-out log is provided.
The After School Care Program follows the school calendar, operating only when school is in session. All school holidays, vacation times, and teacher workshop days are observed. Fees are not assessed for days when the ASCP is not in operation. In the case of school cancellation or early dismissal due to inclement weather, the ASCP will also NOT be open.
Contact information for a secondary care provider for each child participating in this program is required to be provided and will be kept on file for use in case of an emergency.
If a child becomes ill, they will not be allowed to remain in the ASCP for that day. In this case, the secondary care provider will be called to arrange for the child to be picked up from school if a parent is unable to do so.
Payment must be made weekly unless other arrangements have been mutually agreed upon. All payments should be submitted to the office.
The After-School Care Program is open to students currently enrolled in Cornerstone Christian Academy only.
A minimum of three children enrolled in the After-School Care Program is required to operate the program.
The After-School Care Program is a state licensed program.
