HEAD OF SCHOOL SEARCH

Cornerstone Christian Academy is seeking a new Head of School to replace Mr. Troy McCrum.  Mr. McCrum faithfully led the Academy for four years and concluded his service as CCA's Principal on November 10, 2011 in order to accept a position with Pineland Farms in Fort Fairfield.  Former Board member, Mrs. Angela Wardwell was named Interim Principal at Cornerstone Christian Academy and began service to the Academy on November 14, 2012.  The search for a permanent Head of School is underway and the goal is to find the right person to begin service by July 1, 2012.  The advertisement has been placed with local, state, and national media.

During Mr. McCrum’s four years as Principal at Cornerstone Christian Academy, he worked with a fine team of educators, board members, and parents to "build foundations where faith and learning unite."  Our school community will miss Mr. McCrum and his leadership, but we are confident in the future of Cornerstone Christian Academy and will be seeking someone with the commitment, ability, and experience to carry on this shared vision of excellence.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's new Head of School will continue to build upon the foundation laid over the last five years and will lead our school through its finest days, which we believe lie ahead.  An Opportunity Profile has been developed and a link to this document is posted below.  Details of the search process and the Search Committee’s timeline may also be found below.  Regular updates will be posted on the Committee’s progress.  We are confident that the leadership of the Board, the work of the Search Committee, and the input from our school community will all contribute to clear direction, a smooth and seamless transition, and a bright and exciting future for Cornerstone Christian Academy.

October 2011 Update

An advertisement for Interim Principal was placed in local newspapers.  Applications will be reviewed as received.  The committee hopes to have the interim position filled by November 14 with the position going through the end of the current school year.  The committee also established a timeline for the Head of School search, approved a letter from the Search Committee to the CCA community, reviewed preliminary work on an Opportunity Profile, discussed the application procedure and items of information to require from each applicant.  Future work items include:  finalizing the Opportunity Profile, developing a job advertisement, and determining minimum requirements for education and work experience.

November 2011 Update

The committee met on November 7 to review applications for Interim Principal and voted that none of the individuals would be recommended at that time.  Since there would not be an Interim Principal in place on November 14, the committee recommended that the Board take on the responsibilities of that position.  Angela Wardwell resigned her position on the Board of Directors and assumed the duties of principal on November 14.  She will continue in this position until a suitable candidate for Interim Principal is found.

December 2011 Update

A draft copy of the Opportunity Profile was presented to the Board of Directors at their December meeting.  The committee will work on finalizing the profile and the job advertisement.  The goal is to advertise the position locally, statewide, and nationally sometime in December.

January 2011 Update

The position has been advertised in the Star Herald, the Aroostook Republican, the Bangor Daily News weekend edition, and on the ACSI website.  The ad has also been posted on CCA's home page.  Four individuals have submitted the required items for application.  The committee will meet soon to begin the review process.  The Board named Angela Wardwell as Interim Principal.  Mrs. Wardwell will serve in this capacity on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through the end of the current school year.
